Consumer Cellular, CNMC, Phreeli lead speaker line-up for MVNO Nation Europe 2026

MVNO Nation has confirmed the speaker line-up for MVNO Nation Europe 2026, taking place on 3–5 November 2026 at the Hotel Meliá Villaitana in Alicante, Spain. More than 60 speakers from MVNOs, MNOs, regulators, analysts and technology partners – spanning Europe, the US, Asia and Africa – will address the industry’s shift from price-based competition to value, B2B and IoT growth, and data sovereignty.

Keynotes from a US MVNO pioneer and a European regulator

Ed Evans, chairman and CEO of Consumer Cellular, opens the conference with the story of how the US MVNO differentiated, stayed in the game and built loyalty through human customer service in one of the world’s most crowded markets – and what European operators should take from it. Alejandra de Iturriaga Gandini, director of telecommunications and audiovisual sector at the Spanish National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) and BEREC incoming chair, delivers the day-two keynote on upcoming European regulation and how MVNOs can expand across borders.

Operator and brand voices

Confirmed speakers include Miguel Rodriguez, head of MVNO, roaming and capacity at Orange Spain; Reinout van Ierschot, EVP wholesale at KPN; Rakesh Patel, senior manager – MVNO at BT Wholesale; Matthew E Hudson, SVP business development at Plintron; and Chris Schaffer, SVP business development at MVNO Connect. They are joined by voices from European MVNO brands: Lucy Hosker, CX lead at Tesco Mobile; Natalie Cutten, product director at giffgaff; Andy Aitken, CEO at Honest Mobile; Antti Niemelä, managing director at Giga Mobiili; Daniel Upson, group partnerships director at Lebara; Kim André Irgens Nilsen, COO of Fjordkraft Mobil; and Gary McCready, commercial and strategy director at iD Mobile.

Global case-study speakers include Alexis Slepoy, manager of imowi, on a hybrid MVNO model serving cooperative communities; and Nicholas Merrill, president of privacy-first MVNO Phreeli, on challenging an FBI request for customer data. Operator-side technology and strategy voices come from Vodafone, Polkomtel, Optima Italia, KPN, Orange Spain, T-Mobile and BT.

Analysts and independent research on stage

The line-up also features analysts: Pablo Iacopino, head of research and commercial content at GSMA Intelligence, unveiling new global consumer data on how MVNO and MNO customers behave differently; Kester Mann, director, consumer and connectivity at CCS Insight; Steffen Sorrell, chief of research at Kaleido Intelligence; Mohit Agrawal, global practice head, edge AI and eSIM at Counterpoint Research; and Eduardo Tude, president of Teleco.

The Hunt: the next generation of MVNOs pitches live

This year’s Hunt – MVNO Nation’s “Shark Tank”-style pitching session – features Rob Brock, co-founder of SecondSim; Kingsley Uwazie, CTO of NTEL; and Mychal Riley, CEO of AiR, each pitching to a judging panel of investors, consultants and MVNO operators including Vivian Delgado-Johnson, founder and president of Vivid Strategies Consulting; Kristi Brown, managing director of Performance Culture Consulting; Daniel Upson of Lebara; and Gary Koeb, CEO of Axiomera Partners. The winner will be announced at the MVNO Nation Awards on 4 November.

“The line-up tells the story of where this industry is going: MVNO founders who built loyal customer bases without owning a network, MNO and wholesale leaders who see partners rather than competitors, a regulator willing to engage the market directly, and analysts bringing hard data instead of predictions,” said Ewa Campbell, co-founder, MVNO Nation. “These are the people setting the European MVNO agenda for 2027.”
